Hear the results of the ground-breaking IDA research on the top qualities and traits of the top performing CEOs/Executive Directors in our profession. Then, take those characteristics and apply them your career track: what skills are you missing, where can you get them, how and when can you make a lateral or upward move and where to focus your skill development.
Presenters: David Downey, President & CEO, IDA, Washington, DC; Tony Kirschner, Partner, Davies Park Executive Search, Vancouver, BC

2. Chinatown – Gentrification vs. Evolution?
1:00 – 4:00pm  (Registration in advance; $25)

North America’s third-largest Chinatown by population with its roots in the late 1800’s, the area remains a life-long home for many residents. However, with the influx of trendy bars and restaurants reclaiming historic spaces, residential re-development has followed. Grappling with criticism and push-back to the area’s gentrification, an active and committed host of young social-change and business innovators have emerged to help guide the area’s transition. Only a stone’s throw from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, Chinatown is as complicated and interesting a neighbourhood as they come.
